Practical Experience with DAMS Antenna Measurement Systems for Over One Year

Extensive hands-on experience with DAMS Antenna Measurement Systems was gained for the measurement and characterization of phased array antennas.

This involved performing accurate far-field and near-field measurements, evaluating key parameters such as radiation patterns, gain, beam steering performance, and polarization characteristics.

The system was effectively used to validate simulation results and analyze beamforming capabilities across various scan angles and frequency bands.

Calibration procedures, alignment accuracy, and data post-processing were also managed to ensure high-fidelity results in both indoor and controlled measurement environments.
Hands-On Experience Using NSI 2000 for Antenna Testing and Characterization more more than two years

Hands-on experience was gained using the NSI 2000 Antenna Measurement System for the comprehensive characterization of antennas, including single-element and phased array configurations.

The system operates over a frequency range of 1–20 GHz.

The work involved setting up and calibrating the system for near-field and far-field measurements, performing gain, radiation pattern, polarization, and beam steering evaluations.

Specialized tasks included configuring the system for multi-port measurements, automating test sequences, and post-processing the acquired data for analysis and reporting.

The system’s high precision and flexibility made it suitable for validating simulation results and supporting advanced research in radar, communication, and reconfigurable antenna systems.
Foundational Experience in mmWave Measurements Using NSI 2000 and Anechoic Chambers

Gained foundational experience in operating millimeter-wave (mmWave) anechoic chambers and the NSI 2000 antenna measurement system for near-field and far-field testing.

Tasks included setup and alignment of antennas under test (AUT), calibration of the measurement system, and conducting preliminary radiation pattern and gain measurements.

Exposure to both planar and spherical near-field scanning techniques provided insights into high-frequency antenna characterization, particularly in controlled low-reflection environments.

This experience contributed to developing a basic understanding of mmWave measurement protocols, data acquisition, and analysis workflows.
Fabrication Experience Using LPKF Laser & Electronics Prototyping Machines

Gained hands-on experience in PCB fabrication using LPKF Laser and Electronics systems, including ProtoMat and laser etching machines.

Responsibilities included preparing design files, setting up milling and laser parameters, and operating the machine for accurate board production. Worked on RF and microwave circuit etching, antenna prototyping, and performed soldering, inspection, and testing.

Also became familiar with LPKF software and cleanroom procedures to support efficient prototyping for high-frequency electronics projects.
Antenna and RF Circuit Measurement Using PNA (1–20 GHz) System

Gained practical experience in antenna and RF circuit measurement using a Keysight PNA (Performance Network Analyzer) system operating in the 1–20 GHz frequency range.

Tasks included calibration of the PNA using SOLT and electronic calibration kits, S-parameter measurements of active and passive circuits, and evaluation of antenna performance metrics such as return loss, insertion loss, impedance matching, and radiation efficiency.

The system was also used to characterize phased arrays, filters, couplers, and matching networks.

Proficiency was developed in data analysis, de-embedding techniques, and using PNA software interface for measurement automation and result interpretation in both research and prototyping environments.
